about the hop program

educational programming kits

The HOP program is currently updating the programming kits for each exhibit. These programming kits feature experiments, instructions and art supplies, and theme related books enhancing your users’ experience with the HOP exhibit.

Previously these kits were organized by science, art and literature:

  • Science Kit
includes experiments and the supplies to conduct them.
  • Art Kit
provides instructions and supplies for conducting art and art appreciation activities.
  • Literature Kit
includes theme related books, color sheets, crayons and a color & shape bingo game.

These kits also include recommended scholars, artists and other experts that can conduct in-depth programs related to the exhibit topic, should you choose to use them.

The kits are now being restructured to be more age-appropriate for your students, while continuing to feature science, art and literature. The new kits are now labeled as:

  • P/K (Pre-Kindergarten)
  • Primary
  • Intermediate

The “Light & Color” and the “Bugs Eye View” exhibits are currently featuring the updated kits. The other exhibits, “Animals as Architects” and “Dinostories” will have their kits updated by Summer 2009. This update also enables you to consider to reschedule an exhibit you may have had in the past for an updated educational curriculum experience.
