State Library's Hands-On Partnership receives funding

The South Dakota Discovery Center and Aquarium in partnership with the State Library will receive a $145,619 grant through the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Museums for America program to expand the Hand-On Partnership for Science, Literature, and Arts in South Dakota.

The grant program seeks to strengthen a museum's ability to serve the public more effectively by supporting high-priority activities that advance the institution's mission and strategic goals. The funds can be used for a wide variety of projects, including research, planning, new programs and other activities.

The Hands-On Partnership for Science, Literature, and Art, in South Dakota was formed to increase access to hands-on science, literature, and arts experiences by citizens of rural and reservation communities. The HOP program features turn-key traveling exhibits, using modern technology and fun.
